TKM #34: iPhone 4 in India

Its been quiet a week in the technology world with a mix of product announcements - Apple iPhone 4, India's 3G auction completion, Google sniffing its into trouble, and Hotmail releasing a new feature for India to enable access hotmail via SMS. Need less to say that Apple iPhone 4 stole the limelight this week. Saket is impressed by the display and I like the front facing camera for FaceTime. We also talk about iPhone coming to India. Things are a bit hazy and we discuss the expected pricing.

Nice episode. Good to hear about about the 3G auctions.

Oh and what Apple calls 'Retina display' is just a high pixel density display which they claim is more 'accurate' than what a human eye can detect. I don't think it's anything to do with the wikipedia article Aditya read on.. Marketing!!

And Wifi (even 3G) based video chat has been done before. Even Motorola handsets from 2-3yrs ago had 3G based video conferencing, but of course it had to be supported by telcos. The main issue was that you needed same phones and telcos with both users which are rare. With Apple this is much more common..
