Niranjana Rajagopal approached Indicast with the concept of “Voice of the NGO”, a series of podcasts that would aim to make listeners more aware of the NGO scene in the city of Mumbai (for now). The podcasts will be presented through our collaboration with Karmayog. Each epsiode in the Voice of the NGO podcast series will focus on a particular NGO, and will cover the work that the organisation is doing towards its cause. The podcasts will literally give a 'voice' to NGOs, so that potential volunteers, donors, and people requiring support can have a better idea of the NGO landscape.
In the inaugral episode of Voice of NGO, Niranjana talks to Vinay Somani, The man behind karmayog.com, a platform that brings together volunteers, corporates, government officials, media and other civil society groups. Mr. Somani has an impressive background - he is a chemical engineer from IIT and is an MBA from Harvard Business School. Through this podcast, you can feel his geniune enthusiasm and commitment towards making a difference to this country. He ends the podcast with a simple thought - if you see a need for change in our country, the least you can do is "Speak up". That thought clearly sums up our vision for "Voice of the NGO".
