Infosys not to hire Satyam employees

Infosys has reportedly asked its HR to refrain from hiring Satyam employees. I think it is important for companies like Infosys to be a bit more sensitive towards the Satyam employees who to say the least had no idea about how this week would change their lives. There is news that 10000 people at Satyam might loose their jobs due to liquidity problems caused due to negligence by Raju and the Satyam board members. 53000 people and their families (at least 1.5 lakh people) must be under tremendous pressure and if at such a time companies say that they won’t hire people because they were Satyamite then that going to be even more unfortunate.
Narayan Murthy has been quoted as saying “We will not touch a tainted company”. It’s important that we differentiate between people responsible for the fraud and the software developers/project managers who have already been betrayed by their company. NASSCOM will have to ensure that the interests of the Satyam employees are safeguarded and that they don’t black listed by other IT companies. I have a feeling that Mr. Murthy has been quoted out of context but if it’s true then I should remind him that he himself might have shook hands with Mr Raju on several occasion as his peer. It wont be wrong to imagine that Mr. Murthy might have on several occasions praised Mr. Raju for his work done at Satyam so why blacklist the Satyam employees now?
I don’t intend to suggest that other companies have to hire Satyam employees but atleast let’s not blacklist them and brand them as “tainted”.

In US, blacklisting of employees is considered illegal. NRN is fan of US so why not he follow the fair practices of US then?
