Michael Jackson’s dead. Long live…
By abhishek at 27 June, 2009, 2:08 am
Why a post on Michael Jackson on an Indian blog? Why not talk about the legendary Sarod maestro Ustad Akbar Ali Khan who died of renal failure in San Fransisco than about some Afro American entertainer chocking of Cardiac arrest somewhere in LA. Google hits? May be. May be more…

Chand Fiza – the never ending love story
By Ritika at 16 June, 2009, 11:05 pm
The day I read about Chand Fiza love story, I instantly thought to myself, Mahesh Bhatt camp has got another story to make. Looking at Vishesh films, penchant for real life drama, I won’t be surprised if soon there is an announcement of a movie replicating the real life love (!if you call it love) story of Chand Fiza with of course Emraan Hashmi in the lead role and some fresh saucy siren making up the other half. And after knowing that Mr Chand was a deputy CM of Haryana and is a sitting Congress MLA, I am wondering if Prakash Jha also might be interested. He can easily move the set up from Harayana to Bihar. Two out of work politicians in Bihar, Laloo and Paswan could probably even help him in his research.

By Akhilesh at 10 June, 2009, 3:53 am
Last week I was in Delhi, where I have seen most of my cricket. I remembered the old days when my Nani and I used to watch cricket together for hours together. She was a true cricket fan like most of us. And she was the first player with whom I have played cricket as a child.)

In the physical world, ‘Fedex it!’ is a common phrase if you want to parcel your stuff from one part of the globe to another. Similarly for hunting something in the virtual world, ‘Zara search maar’ has given way to ‘Google kar ke dekh.’

Indian Cricket’s new avatar
By abhishek at 10 April, 2009, 12:21 am
While watching a test match between India and England, as a naïve 13 year old, I remember asking my dad about why was India still batting when it had far eclipsed England’s total of 300 odd. That’s when I was introduced to the concept of test match cricket where both teams would get a shot at batting twice over a period of 5 days. As a gully cricketer in my school days, I was drawn more towards batting. I liked scoring runs. So, to watch Brian Lara “build” his innings for hours together seemed terribly boring at first, but when I heard the likes of Henry Blowfield and Richie Benaud talk about what was happening on the screen, they made test match cricket seem more like a game of chess.
