As per the latest figures, IPL player salaries are second only to NBL. Well in the third season itself the IPL franchise is worth around $.4.1 billion. The most favourite soap operas are witnessing a steady decline in their TRPs due to IPL. No producer wants to risk releasing his blockbuster movie during IPL season. Every marketing head is trying to associate his brand to IPL in some form or the other (even the official chewing gum rights are sold).

Who knew that in auction round of the third IPL season, the reigning world champion Pakistan, would have their players completely ignored? It was a moment of shock and disgust, when the hammer was hit after Shahid Afridi was announced, followed with a monotone, ‘Not Sold’, by the auctioneer. Surprising and equally shocking was the behaviour of the franchise owners at the third auction of the Indian Premier League.

The IPL is slated to move out of India for this season as the government feels ill equipped to provide security protection for the matches because the IPL dates are clashing with the election dates. So we will still have the India Premier League but out side India. It may have sounded really funny if we did not have millions riding on this decision.
