Amazon buys audible

With the news about Microsoft’s hostile bid for Yahoo out in the papers, a very interesting acquisition news came through too. Amazon announced that it has acquired Audible for $300 million. This is almost a no brainer and $300 million well spent by Amazon.

In 2003, IBM had only 9,000 employees in India which rose to 53000 in 2006 and the latest IBM employee figures reveal that the number of blue shirts (A term for IBM employees) in India has gone up to 73,000. IBM until last year had around 3,50,000 employee worldwide.
