Buy unlocked iPhone in India

I am not sure that Apple cares about selling its products in India but unlocked iphones are available online at Gadgets.in.

One has to be very careful with such purchases because the site clearly mentions that it is a software hack. If you do purchase it from this site, i would highly recommend against installing iPhone software updates pushed out by Apple. In the recent past, Apple has bricked (a tech term which means making a product useless) iPhones through software updates.

When I asked the Image store (Authorised Apple Resellers in India) representative for a tentative date of iPhone Launch in India, the person just shrugged his shoulder. I am sure that the above online purchases would be illegal but Apple gives us no option but to go to such sites and buy it. Apple made a big deal about the iPhones but no avenues to purchase the product!!
